Social
Monjasa means personal business – this way of approaching life and business is anchored in our corporate purpose and has been a key enabler in the fast-paced development of the Monjasa Group.
To us, personal business starts with respect and equal opportunities for everyone in Monjasa and those we engage with.
In total, four different initiatives fall under this pillar.
Driving employee development
Monjasa focuses on being a globally attractive employer that develops and retains our talents. We do so through our All Onboard framework, by providing equal learning opportunities for everyone through our digital learning platform and learning activities spanning across geographical locations.
Equally important, we also attract and develop an industry talent pipeline through the bunker industry’s most ambitious and comprehensive trainee programme – the Monjasa Oil & Shipping Trainee (MOST) programme.
Cultivating diversity and inclusion
Monjasa is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce where all feel valued. We do this by providing equal opportunities at the workplace, spreading awareness of inclusive practices through uncovering unconscious bias, as well as following up on our commitment to the Danish Shipping’s Charter for more women in shipping.
Sustaining a healthy and safe work environment
Monjasa has a strong commitment to providing a safe working environment for all our employees, contractors and communities where we operate. We operate an Integrated Management System certified to ISO 45001:2018 to enable us to achieve these commitments across our operations and offices.
SAFEGUARDING AGAINST MODERN SLAVERY
Safeguarding against modern slavery is not just a legal obligation, it is a moral imperative. Monjasa is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all our activities by implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard our business against any form of Modern Slavery within our business and our supply chain. In 2023, Monjasa implemented a Modern Slavery Policy in alignment with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 across the Monjasa Group.

Engaging in local partnerships and communities
Assuming social responsibility in many different forms has been a part of the Monjasa Group for years. During the past couple of years, Monjasa has engaged in civil society partnerships and non-profit-making projects particularly focusing on children and young people such as FANT. A strong collaboration between FANT and Monjasa has resulted in the Connected Leadership programme, an immersive leadership journey based in Sierra Leone, that promotes participants’ self-awareness and reflections on their purpose and impact.
During the coming years, Monjasa will accelerate these efforts by taking a more focused Group approach to local partnership creation as well as employee engagement. Therefore, we have launched Group Partnerships in Monjasa. Going forward, the secretariat will be responsible for all partnerships and sponsorships across Monjasa. Our Group Partnerships secretariat can be contacted here.
