From Stamford to New York City
Oil and shipping group, Monjasa, is pleased to announce the relocation of its Stamford, Connecticut office to New York City in June 2024.
Monjasa has been a long-standing and active partner to the Stamford maritime community since the opening of the local office in 2011.
”With this move to NYC, we are opening a new and exciting chapter for Monjasa in the US, but it is also important to say that Stamford will always be special to Monjasa. This was the first Monjasa office in the Americas region and during these past 13 years, we have been building strong personal relationships across the US from there. Our commitment towards Stamford, the Connecticut Maritime Association and our local partners will remain strong. So, more than a “farewell” I think it is a big “thank you” to Stamford,” says Rasmus Jacobsen, Managing Director Americas.

New Midtown Manhattan location
The new office officially opens on Monday 3 June 2024, and will be located in a temporary workspace at Park Avenue nearby the Grand Central Terminal.
“The decision to move our office from Connecticut to the State of New York comes on the back of careful considerations and evaluations of what is best for our colleagues and future business opportunities. NYC has a larger pool of candidates available to Monjasa, which we can access to further build out Monjasa’s presence in North America. In addition, when it comes to making our business personal, NYC also offers some additional touchpoints with industry peers passing through New York,” Roger Dekkers, General Manager North America, concludes.
Monjasa will have a permanent and full-fledged office ready in the Midtown Manhattan area towards the end of 2024.
Bringing new trainee opportunities to the Big Apple
In parallel with moving the office to NYC, Monjasa also expects to open up new maritime opportunities for candidates relevant for the Monjasa Oil & Shipping Trainee (MOST) programme.
Since 2018, the MOST programme has offered a combined two-year shipping education and hands-on industry experience to future generations of Traders and Operators. As part of the relocation to NYC, Monjasa is now actively looking to add a new trainee to the team.

New York City thereby joins Monjasa Americas’ three existing office locations in Houston, Panama City and Rio de Janeiro.
