Expanding into the English Channel
By launching a new bunkering facility at Portland Port, UK, Monjasa further enhances operating synergies and strengthens the position as leading physical supplier of marine fuels.
Managing Director for Monjasa Europe, Ricky Kenbjerg:
“It’s part of the Monjasa Group strategy to strengthen our physical capabilities across Northern Europe. With this move into the English Channel, we are heightening security of supply throughout the area. When placing an order with Monjasa, our clients will thereby enjoy full flexibility in taking bunkers anywhere between the English Channel and the Baltic Sea.
We expect to gain further grounds in this market and increase our market share in Northern Europe by an estimated 300,000 tonnes per year.”

A one-stop-shop when entering the SECA area
Monjasa is set to commence operations from the strategically located UK port of Portland with immediate effect. Thereby, Monjasa is taking over the well-established former Aegean Marine Petroleum bunkering set-up. The facility is ideally located at the western entrance to the Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA). Thereby, this area represents an important addition to Monjasa’s existing physical operations from the Port of Skagen, Denmark and the Port of Riga, Latvia.
Monjasa has been granted permission by the Portland Port Commissioners to offer the market bunker deliveries of all grades. Monjasa will be providing clients with marine fuel oil (IFO), marine gas oil (MGO) and Ultra-Low-Sulphur-Diesel (ULSFO). Naturally, with all products meeting the latest ISO 8217:2010 specifications.
In addition, Monjasa will offer crew-change and slops disposal services at all European terminal facilities.
