At Monjasa we are aware of the challenging legal and political environment we work in, and we are fully committed to being at the forefront of compliance in the bunkering sector.

The compliance department looks at the risks posed by Sanctions, Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF), and Bribery & Corruption (ABAC), adopting all necessary measures to manage and mitigate these risks in line with, and often above, industry best practice.

Our compliance team focuses on establishing and optimising policies and procedures to comply with international legal and industry requirements. As a key part of this, the team regularly evaluates and audits our suppliers, it carries out Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML analysis, it screens vessels we work with, and it advises other departments on compliance. The team also provides compliance training to employees together with Monjasa Academy, our in-house training partner. The back office compliance team works seamlessly with Management and with all other departments, supporting the business in all Monjasa offices and raising awareness about compliance risks.

Lastly, Monjasa tries to stay ahead of the curve through careful and constant regulation monitoring, regularly communicating and working with our partners to anticipate future trends, opportunities and challenges.
